Terms of Use

Page Press Bookshelf
Effective date: September 17, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of Page Press Bookshelf. By downloading, purchasing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to the rules of the app store through which you obtained the app or made a purchase.

1. What Page Press Bookshelf Does

Page Press Bookshelf is a local-first journal-page preservation and organization app. It allows you to photograph or import physical journal pages and other images, organize them into digital books, optionally decorate the preserved digital copy, create backups, and export supported content.

The original imported page image is intended to remain separate from optional non-destructive presentation and decoration data.

2. Eligibility and App Store Terms

You must be legally permitted to use the app and to make purchases through the applicable app store. Your use of Google Play or Apple's App Store is also subject to that store's terms, billing rules, family or age restrictions, and account requirements.

3. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms and the applicable app-store rules, Page Press Bookshelf grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you are authorized to use.

You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that cannot legally be restricted.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of journal pages, photographs, text, stickers, artwork, and other content that you create or import, subject to any rights held by third parties in material you did not create.

Page Press Bookshelf does not claim ownership of your journal content merely because you import, organize, decorate, back up, or export it with the app.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use, reproduce, modify, or share content you import or export.

5. Local Storage and Backups

The current version stores the core Page Press library locally on your device and does not provide a Page Press cloud-synchronized journal library.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device backups or Page Press backup files if the content is important to you. Device loss, storage corruption, operating-system actions, uninstalling the app, deleting app data, or deleting files may result in data loss.

6. Free Features and Premium

Page Press Bookshelf includes functionality that can be used without a Premium purchase. Premium adds additional creative tools and assets, higher-detail export options, expanded capacity, and bulk or convenience features.

Features included in Free or Premium may evolve as the app is improved. Page Press Bookshelf will not intentionally remove your existing books or journal pages merely because a Premium subscription expires.

7. Monthly and Annual Auto-Renewing Subscriptions

If you purchase Monthly or Annual Premium, the subscription is billed by the applicable app store at the localized price displayed to you at purchase.

Unless you cancel before the next renewal date, the applicable app store may automatically charge the payment method associated with your store account for the next subscription period.

Store pricing, taxes, currency conversion, billing timing, payment methods, and regional availability are controlled by the applicable app store and may vary by country or region.

8. Annual Free Trial

Eligible new subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial of Annual Premium. Eligibility is determined by the applicable app store and purchase configuration.

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts to the paid Annual Premium plan and the app store charges the annual price shown to you when you started the trial. The subscription then renews automatically each year until cancelled.

9. Lifetime Premium

Lifetime Premium is a one-time, non-renewing in-app purchase for Page Press Bookshelf Premium features available under the lifetime product on supported platforms.

"Lifetime" refers to the lifetime availability of the Page Press Bookshelf product and supported purchase entitlement, not the lifetime of any particular person, device, operating system, store, or third-party service. Continued availability can be affected by events outside the developer's reasonable control, including platform or legal changes.

10. Managing or Cancelling a Subscription

Subscriptions are managed through the store account used to purchase them. Cancelling stops future renewal; unless the applicable store or law provides otherwise, Premium normally remains available through the end of the already-paid subscription period.

Google Play subscribers can manage subscriptions through Google Play's subscription management tools. Apple subscribers can manage subscriptions through their Apple account subscription settings.

11. Refunds

Purchases are processed by the applicable app store. Refund eligibility and refund requests are generally governed by that store's policies and applicable consumer law. Page Press Bookshelf does not independently control an app store's approval or denial of a refund.

12. Restore Purchases

Page Press Bookshelf provides a Restore Purchases function for supported store purchases. Restoration depends on the store account, purchase type, store records, platform rules, and RevenueCat entitlement information.

13. What Happens When Premium Ends

When a subscription expires or is cancelled at the end of its paid period, Page Press Bookshelf may prevent new Premium-only actions or new use of locked Premium assets.

Existing books, original page images, backups, and previously created Premium designs are not intentionally deleted because Premium ends. Existing Premium-created content is intended to remain viewable, and ordinary access to the user's own preserved content remains available subject to the app's normal functionality.

14. Built-In Creative Assets

Built-in fonts, stickers, washi, mats, icons, stamps, and other app-provided creative assets remain the property of their respective rights holders. Your license to use those assets is limited to use permitted within Page Press Bookshelf and in outputs created through normal use of the app. You may not extract and redistribute the asset library itself as a competing asset pack or standalone collection.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Page Press Bookshelf to:

16. Third-Party Services

Page Press Bookshelf relies on operating-system and app-store services and may use third-party infrastructure such as RevenueCat for purchase validation and entitlement management. Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Page Press Bookshelf is not responsible for the availability or independent operation of a third-party service outside its control.

17. Availability and Changes

The app may be updated, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features may be added, improved, reorganized, or removed where reasonably necessary for product development, legal compliance, platform compatibility, security, or sustainability.

Where required by applicable law or store policy, material subscription changes will be communicated through appropriate notices or store mechanisms.

18. No Professional Advice

Page Press Bookshelf is a creative organization and preservation tool. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, archival-conservation, or other professional advice.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Page Press Bookshelf is provided "as is" and "as available." No software, storage system, export process, or backup process can be guaranteed to be error-free, uninterrupted, or immune from data loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Page Press Bookshelf and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss resulting from failure to maintain an adequate backup.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit non-waivable statutory consumer rights.

21. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. These Terms may also cease to apply if the app is discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, and payment-related provisions, survive as permitted by law.

22. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply where they cannot legally be waived.

23. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to Page Press Bookshelf, Premium, applicable law, or platform requirements. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the Terms change.
